Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) was set up by Govt. of Odisha as a statutory body in the year 1994 for carrying out direct recruitment against Group-C & Group-B posts in the State cadre. There are more than 140 different cadres of posts/ services under various Departments of Government against which recruitments are made through this Commission.

Prior to shifting of the Commission’s office to Unit-V, Bhubaneswar-751054, it was functioning at OFDC building, Buxi Bazar, Cuttack with skeletal staff deputed from different Heads of Departments of Govt. of Odisha.The Commission is headed by the Chairman aided by three Members. They are appointed by the Government of Odisha and are governed by Rules regulating their recruitment and conditions of service as framed by Govt. from time to time.

OSSC Recruitment Salary:-

• Weaving Supervisor: Rs. 35400/- pm to Rs. 112400/- pm
• Soil Conservation Extension Worker: Rs. 21700/- pm to Rs. 69100/- pm
• Technical Assistant: Rs. 19900/- pm to Rs. 63200/- pm
• Amin: Rs. 18000/- pm to Rs. 56900/- pm

OSSC Recruitment Qualification:- 10th, 12th, Diploma Pass

• Weaving Supervisor: Diploma Pass Handloom Technology/ Textile Technology From IIHT/ other recognized institution.
• Soil Conservation Extension Worker: 12^th Pass Science or +2 Vocational course in Agriculture related subject i.e. Crop Production (CP)/ Horticulture/ Repair & Maintenance of Power Driven farm Machinery (PDFM) from any of the recognized Board/ Council or institution.
• Technical Assistant: HSC or Matriculation with PMF/Handloom Weaving & Design Training in Govt. organization. The candidate other than IHWD, Khordha having done Diploma or any other course from any other Govt. recognized institute and intends to apply for the post will be required to obtain a certificate from the Head of the Institute of Handloom Weaving & Design Khordha, Odisha to the effect that the syllabus covered in the Diploma or any other training course done by them.
• Amin: 12^th Pass Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha or Equivalent Examination and must have basic computer knowledge.
