The Centre provides world class launch base infrastructure for national and international customers in accomplishing diverse launch vehicle/satellite missions for remote sensing, communication, navigation & scientific purposes and is one among the best known names of the Spaceports of the world today. The space centre, which was popularly known as SHAR (Sriharikota Range) was renamed as Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR on September 5, 2002, in fond memory of Prof. Satish Dhawan, former Chairman of ISRO.

Qualification:- 10th, 12th, ITI, Diploma, B.Sc, Master’s Degree
Technical Assistant:
- First Class Diploma in Cinematography/ Photography from a recognized University /Institution.
Scientific Assistant:
- First Class B.Sc. with Computer Science as main subject from a recognised University/ Institution. First Class B.Sc. with Physics as the main and Mathematics & Chemistry as ancillary subjects from a recognized University/ Institution. First Class B.Sc. with Physics as main and Mathematics & Chemistry as ancillary subjects from a recognized University/ Institution.
Library Assistant:
- First Class Master’s Degree in Library Science/ Library & Information Science or equivalent from a recognized University/ Institution.
Technician B/ Draughtsman B:
- SSLC/SSC pass +ITI/NTC/NAC in any one of the following trades from NCVT. SSLC/SSC pass + ITI/ NTC/ NAC in Diesel Mechanic Trade from NCVT and Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License. SSLC/SSC pass + ITI/NTC/ NAC in Draughtsman (Civil) Trade from NCVT.
